| | FANCY COLORS
A fancy color diamond is defined as a diamond which is darker than the Z on the G.I.A. grading scale. Therefore, when a yellowish diamond gets darker than a Z on the G.I.A. scale, it is considered fancy yellow. There are also fancy green, brown, blue, rose, pink, violet, orange, and fancy black. These fancy colors can be as expensive, or much more expensive, than even a D color on the standard scale. According to the G.I.A., rose, pink, blue, green, and violet are the rarest of the fancy colored diamonds.
